The Boulder Skatepark at Scott Carpenter Park, is a 16,000 square foot, unsupervised, skate-at-your-own-risk facility, featuring a street-course with the lure of rails, curbs, and free-flowing forms and bowls for your skatebaording enjoyment. The new skatepark is FREE and OPEN for skateboarders. No pads required, but highly suggested by the city of Boulder.
The Skatepark was designed by Shapins Associates and Michael McIntyre, RLA/ASLA, an experienced skateboarder and nationally known skatepark architect and constructed by Site Deisgn Group, Inc. In addition, Boulder skaters helped with design work. The Parks and Recreation Department is funding part of the project.
Additional funds are being sought through partnerships, sponsorships, and grants. The Boulder Valley YMCA will continue to be an operating partner for the Boulder Skatepark. If you would like more information on the skatepark advisory committee, call the YMCA at 303.442.2778.
A public phone is at the Scott Carpenter Pool Bathhouse across the parking lot to the west.
