Epworth Skatepark is on church property, so there is a strict no drinking rule, but the church staff, and members are pretty cool otherwise. Designed by local skaters, and built by Evergreen Skateparks, the park features a small, but fun bowl, good street course with China banks, ledges, hubbas, rails, hips, slappy curbs, and banks, and apparently is only in phase one. Helmet and pads are suggested, but not required. There is no charge for use of the facility, and it is open from sunrise to sunset. There are lights until 10 p.m., but only over the street course, although lights are supposed to be installed over the bowl later this year.

The money to build the skatepark was raised by a committee called the Epworth Skate Project (who also maintain the park), and most donations came from local individuals, and businesses. The church holds monthly "Skate Day" in the warmer months which are family friendly, and feature live music, contests, art displays, vendors, and food for sale. More info can be found on facebook, or at www.eumcrb.org/sk8. New website coming soon.
