Barnum Skatepark is a new 8,500-square-foot concrete skatepark in Denver's Barnum neighborhood, built into the renovation of Barnum Park and opened in June 2025. The park has a distinctly modern street-skating focus, with a spacious layout built around banks, ledges, rails, stairs, and other features designed to be connected into flowing lines.

What stands out about Barnum is how approachable the design feels. Rather than relying on unusual or intimidating obstacles, the park uses familiar street features that can be approached in multiple ways. Smaller skaters and beginners can work their way through the features at a comfortable pace, while more experienced riders can use the same obstacles for bigger tricks, longer combinations, and more technical lines.

The park has a clean, open layout that gives riders room to build speed and move between features without feeling cramped. Rails and ledges provide plenty of opportunities for grinds and slides, while the banks and transitions add variety and help connect the street-oriented sections. The result is a park that feels designed around actual street skating rather than simply placing a collection of obstacles on a slab of concrete.

Barnum also has a strong neighborhood character. Before the renovation, local residents had already turned the park's old tennis courts into makeshift skating areas, showing that there was an established skating community ready for a permanent facility. The new skatepark builds on that history with a purpose-built space that gives local skaters a place to ride without having to travel across Denver.
